I have made several posts about open shelves, I really love these ideas, but I didn’t leave any space for a open shelf in my kitchen,  I don’t want to clean every dish before I use it!

The Stainless steel kitchen cabinets designed by Viking Kitchen Cabinets. Stainless steel slab cabinet doors paired with long stainless steel handles create a contemporary linear flow in this rectangular kitchen. A copper strip at the top of the wall cabinets adds a contrasting metallic accent.

SieMatic recently won one of the first Microsoft WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) Client Innovation Awards in the lifestyle category for its S1-Grid interactive user interface, part of the SieMatic S1 “multimedia” kitchen. The SieMatic S1 has already received the red dot “best of the best” award, the competition’s highest distinction.

Brown and cream cabinet doors

Multiple layers of stenciling in brown and cream add timeworn elegance to a ho-hum kitchen. Chunky copper-look hardware teams well with the faux-tile stenciled designs.

Creamy white cabinets and blue kitchen island.

Creamy white paint on formerly dark cabinets makes this kitchen feel larger. The existing island was painted a darker shade of green than the walls to help it stand out. Faux wrought-iron knobs tie the updated cabinets in with the black light fixture/pot rack.

Painting old cabinets crisp white (plus polishing existing hardware) saves them for another decade of use. Repeating the backsplash’s beaded board on a new island gives everything the same old-time flavor.
