I think this kitchen concept is fine as far as it goes, but I do want to point out that there are a number of wonderful concepts in Europe, especially Italy, that are designed for small spaces. If I had this problem, I would most definitely be exploring those ideas. Part of the difficulty–the fact that these cabinetmakers are overseas–is only a perceived problem. When you think about it, unless you employ a local cabinetmaker, the cabinets you install will be manufactured elsewhere and shipped to your home for installation by a cabinet installer. What is the difference between halfway across the nation and halfway across the world? Both will involve packaging cabinetry to withstand the journey. And once you get your arms around that, then it’s just a matter of finding kitchen ideas that make sense. And, man, there’s a lot of them out there!
