Modern Foldable Kitchens Design

 Moove 01 and Moove 02

Some people living in small spaces don’t need to look at their kitchen all the time; an Italian company logically called Florida Kitchens has introduced two models that have sliding components so that they just go away when not needed. the Moove 1 closes up by having the top slide down, which seems complicated for not much gain in space. The Moove 02 is a lot more interesting.

Italian furniture brand Florida Furniture presents a first for modern homes – foldable kitchens. The Moove 01 and Moove 02 foldable kitchens are a great addition to the compact home, where an inch unused is an inch wasted. Well, you can be sure these kitchens maximize every inch. Moove 01 features cabinets that offer plenty of storage and open up to reveal your backsplash and work surface, or close to conceal it all for a sleek, streamlined look. Moove 02 features folding lower cabinets and appliances that quite literally slide out of the way when not in use, folding neatly into the island. Talk about making some bold “Mooves” in the kitchen! Amazing Modern Kitchen Feld Residence By Sand Studios

Saturday, November 6th, 2010

clean, modern kitchen, big glass sliding doors for upper cabinets

The Felds’ new kitchen is clean, modern, and laced with industrial touches (laboratory faucets, lab glass pendant lamps designed by Sand, stainless steel appliances) while animated by materials and crafted elements that radiate warmth: fir floors unearthed from beneath two layers of linoleum; a fireclay farm sink made in England; Carrera marble counters that extend up the walls; walnut shelving; and industrial mechanisms that put the hardware on display, such as the suspended rolling blackboard that conceals the water heater.

modern kitchen minimalist design

Prized possessions such as the old English butcher’s block sit cheek-to-jowl with 21st-century amenities, such as the stacking ovens by Dacor, six-burner Viking stove, and Miele dishwasher.

Open walnut shelving

The Feld kitchen bridges eras by bringing together traditional designs and materials (the big Shaw’s Original English farmhouse sink, fir floors, honed marble counters) with industrial designs. Open walnut shelving helps convey a sense of lightness. The pot-and-pan drawers pull out for easy access, while rolling steel-framed panels of textured glass above the counter act as a scrim, allowing the Felds to choose what to obscure and what to display.

Gray Painted Modern Cabinetry Design

The kitchen island offers a built-in bookshelf

gray painted cabinetry

The gray painted cabinetry is warmed by the vanilla paint color on the surrounding walls.  This creates a nice contrast to the shiny black countertops and tile backsplash.  In fact, touches of black can be found in other areas such as the range hood and the wall accessories.

The stainless steel of the appliances has been repeated in the cabinetry hardware and the end caps on the legs of the island.  All of these cold colors and surfaces have been warmed by the addition of beautifully grained wood furniture and pops of color introduced through bowls of fruit, colorful artwork and fresh flowers.  The island offers a built-in bookshelf to house cookbooks and a wine rack to store those vintage bottles of vino.

Modern Classic Kitchens Design By Candice Olson

Large breakfast island, white quartz countertop

The Necessary Island
If your kitchen is all about family, invest in an island. This long island features a stunning white quartz countertop, white and chrome bar chairs, and a dark wood base to match the mahogany floor.

Mix It Up
Two-toned kitchens are more interesting than one-toned. A marble island, different cabinet finishes and Art Deco tile make this Candice’s favorite Divine Design kitchen makeover.

The most glamorous of her kitchen renovation was this art deco styled kitchen. She used gorgeous marble for the countertops. The showstopper had to be the floors which I totally fell in love with – mosaic tiles in black and white in a simple repeating pattern.

Gray, white and black kitchen color theme

Gray, white and black are really starting to grow on me for a kitchen. One could argue that gray is cold and uninviting but the right gray with white and black can really make  a crisp and bold statement. Check out the back splash as well as the striped floor!

White cabinets in tradtional style

Design your dream kitchen for durability. Three kinds of porcelain tile and carefully planned cabinet storage make this kitchen a stylish workhorse.

Integrate family rooms into the kitchen through color. Dark, espresso-toned cabinets coordinate well with this space’s black sofa and warm khaki walls.

Knock out a wall to add space to your kitchen. This kitchen seamlessly integrates with the dining area, using a buffet island to separate the two.

Candice Olson, a leading designer in the United States and Canada, began her career in commercial and residential design after graduating from the School of Interior Design at Ryerson University in Toronto. Candice received accolades and media attention for her distinctive and exceptional work before moving her design career to television. In fact, earlier in her career, the New York Times identified her as “one to watch.”

Candace Olson is a genius when it comes to total renovations and overhauls. When it comes to kitchens, she is definitely the queen. If I were to choose any designer to build my dream kitchen, it would Candace Olson hands down.
Her signature trademark for many of her kitchen countertops is quartz which is beautiful and more durable than granite. Granite will stain and so having really light colors for granite counter tops actually takes a lot of work to upkeep.
