Open on the dining area, the kitchen creates a space within space, defining a comfortable domestic area, both refined and functional. The construction system is flexible, the range is varied in terms of modular components and the choice of materials, finishes and colours means each kitchen can be personalised in response to specific design needs.

Galley Kitchen Design Ideas And Photos

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Galley kitchens are the ones where all working areas are next to each other, have less storage space and require lot of movement.
Two-way galley kitchens provides for storage space below the worktop, cupboards are placed on the opposite wall for easy access to minimize walking movements, is more compact and must have enough between the two galleys to avoid bumping.

A galley kitchen can be as long as you want. You will just need to divide the kitchen into different work sites. The best width for a galley kitchen is 7 to 12 feet. Kitchens over 10-feet wide can utilize the U-shaped kitchen layout.

Two Types of Corridor-Style Kitchen Designs
1. Walls on Both Sides – With this type of kitchen space, you have a tight space with walls on either side. The kitchen is essentially shoehorned into this space.
2. Kitchen Island or Peninsula – When you have a wall on one side and an open space (like a living room) on the other side. On the open side, a kitchen island or peninsula of cabinets and countertop forms a wall between the kitchen and the open space. We will illustrate a number of layouts within both types of kitchen spaces…

Corridor Style Kitchen DesignCorridor-Style Kitchen Design

With counters on both sides, the corridor style kitchen design is highly functional because it uses the classic kitchen triangle. This layout gives a bit more space for counters and cabinets, though crowding between the two main work spaces may be a problem. Still, the corridor-style kitchen design is a highly affordable and functional plan… (About: Lee Wallender The Corridor Kitchen Design Plan )

Colors For Cabinets In Small Corridor Kitchen

In fact, I don’t think there are best colors for a corridor kitchen, kitchen colors are merely colors that look best in a kitchen and which will also wear well with time and much use. They can be anything really and in essence the whole color world is your oyster, but people have different ideas on what are suitable colors for a kitchen.

You have several areas of the kitchen that you need to coordinate when you paint or remodel. You certainly don’t have to make everything the same color, but it is best to have all of the colors complement each other, rather than clash. A color scheme of two or three colors will work well. The biggest area of color in your kitchen will be the walls and ceiling. These will be your primary color that everything else will coordinate with. If you’re painting the walls a dark color, you may want to leave the ceiling white, which will help to keep the room from feeling too small. The cabinets, if you choose paint over a wood finish should contrast with the walls, but at the same time, not clash with them. Once you have your walls and cabinets painted, then you can choose another color which goes with the first two to use for trim and accents.

black and white kitchens

Black and white kitchens, modern designs from Joseph Dirand

Black and white, two simple colors, but together, they are dramatic and effectively create a strong impression. Compared with the other color, black and white world where more emphasis on the unity and color changes, not only the design of the first induction class, the truth is all the same design.
