Cook like the pros with a commercial grade stove in your kitchen. The copious amount of counter space is a necessity for the expert chef/entertainer. Bright colors of red handmade tiles on dark wood raised panel cabinetry are complemented by a gold paint suiting the Spanish architecture of the house. Photography by Greg Weiner.

Colors of red and blue stay true to form in this Spanish Colonial Revival bathroom. Decorative backsplash tile restores the look of an original installation. Saltillo tiles stay true to the tradition with beautiful iron sconces emulating candles and a bold color on the walls. Photography by Greg Weiner.

The kitchen cabinets were done in a crackle finish to give this kitchen a French bistro look. The black sink stands out against the lightly-colored countertops.

The cabinets in this kitchen have a crackle finish, giving it a French bistro look. The table is a French door that pulls out to seat as many as six. The hutch, found at a furniture outlet store, was broken but backed with the same fabric as the valances, which pulled the entire look together.

The TV sits in an upper cabinet so the family can enjoy watching the news in the morning without it taking up counter space.

The wall entering the kitchen is a hand painted cartoon waiter pointing to the dining room that guests can sign as they leave. The tabletop is a French door that pulls out to seat up to six people. (via: www.hgtv.com)
Rustic kitchens are often beautifully coloured – we suggest pale blues, greens and reds. Try different colors on walls and fittings and, most enjoyably, you don’t have to be too neat with your painting! Rustic kitchens look great with a few paint drops here and there, a combination of weak and strong brush strokes and wispy, wavy lines – this is what gives them their great charm and character. Kitchen Color Ideas – Purple Kitchen Cabinets
[8 Aug 2009 | One Comment | ]
Given the predominance of white and gray kitchens at the moment, finding one with eccentric purple base cabinets as part of a very sophisticated scheme including drab vanilla walls and gray-violet accents has a vibrant and youthful originality. A Tuscan theme kitchen is a masterpiece of decoration that combines the best of all materials. It’s time to free up your creativity. The use of diverse colors especially a bold use of orange and yellow colors is an elegant touch. Pay close attention to a twang of colors in bright reds, sunshine yellows, sea blues, shining blues, bright greens, and browns mixed with burgundy.
For the flooring, you can consider granite, stone, marble, limestone, and slate. Terracotta or lightly distressed wooden floorboards give typical Tuscan feel to the kitchen. The paints should have a weathered effect such as a fake paint finish of antique plaster or sand added to your paint enhances the real Tuscan kitchen decorating style.
Now the furniture. Distressed finish and old paint should be the main theme for the thick wood furniture
. You can choose table linen in luxurious tones and give it an exotic look. Also, use plenty of wrought iron in furniture. As for the décor, tile murals play a key role in bringing out exquisite essence of space. They compliment Tuscany style of decor like the murals of olives, cheese, pears, zucchini, and everything that is Tuscany. You can use accessories made of ceramics and terracotta in rustic colors. (via: momoy.com)
There are no binary perceptions as to what homes in the surreal Italian town of Tuscany bear allegiance to. Of course, it’s the imposing mountains dotting the countryside with loads of company from oak, cypress and lush green olive trees, soaking up oodles of sunshine. Tuscan interior decor displays an insatiable zest for the wonderful things life has to offer.
Here are 7 secret ingredients to create a delectable Tuscan kitchen decor …
•A riot of colors: The bold unabashed use of eclectic colors ensures that there’s never a dull moment in your Tuscan kitchen. Painting the town red will seem really passé when throbbing shades of orange and yellow rule the roost in the kitchen. Gold and burnt terracotta on the walls and floor never hit a false note. Tuscan kitchen accents in flaming red, gorgeous green, luminous blue and sunshine yellow make all your purple hued dreams seem rather pallid.
•Walls: Intricately layered walls in exotic shades of yellow sponged to perfection are sure to evoke piquant reactions from even the most reticent of all your guests. The smoldering appeal of the old world charm is sure to get under your skin. Let your imagination run wild, and try out new techniques to create magic on the plain kitchen walls.
•Floors: Laying stone or quarry tiles on the floor in enigmatic earthy shades is sure to place your antiquated interior design notions in serious jeopardy. Area rugs with the same spectacular style quotient are no less.
