A benefit of an L-shaped kitchen is the ability to center a table in the space. This puts the family close to where the meals are prepared and draws guests near the cook when the homeowners are entertaining. The appliances are along the back wall and the refrigerator is on the side wall (not shown), which creates a large work triangle.

This L-shaped kitchen layout features an island in the middle. Take a cue from this kitchen and install plenty of storage options. The island drawers increase the kitchen’s storage capacity, and open shelves around the kitchen serve as both display space and extra storage. via: http://www.bhg.com

Calming creams and reclaimed elm come together with rustic touches to create an authentic feel in this country kitchen. Wrought iron butterfly hinges have been deliberately distressed for an aged look. via: housetohome

Love the simple white curtain, Salvaged glass forms the center panels in these cabinet doors. This action saves old glass from the trash. It can also add style to new projects because wavy antique glass adds an heirloom quality to just-made cabinets. via: bhg

Yellow cabinets and white island. Sized for a small kitchen, a half-round accent table with cutwork trim finds new life as a minibar. via: bhg

Create a relaxed country feel with a combination of opening shelving with chunky brackets, and painted wooden cabinets. A trestle-style table gives a rustic feel and looks warm and welcoming with cheerful spotted tableware.

Old style “barn doors” look black kitchen cabinets, oh, there is something very attractive about old-fashioned barns now, they are stately and picturesque, evoking the warmth of older days.

Color schemes tips for french country style decor:
The look of French country style decor is spontaneous, appealing and without fuss. The charm rests in the rustic nature of the accessories and furniture and the simple, sunny merging of colors. The colors chiefly connected with French country style decor are sunny yellow, gold, soft green, red, rust and smatterings of lavender, blue and pink. Build a cheerful and sparkling environment with the mingling and coordinating of colors and fabric designs that might even be considered confusing in other interior decors. (Tips via ehow.)

Throughout time, Tuscan kitchens have been the place for loved ones to gather. Food is the other favorite pastime of Italians so to most effectively capture that true Tuscan feel in you kitchen, fill it with the pieces needed to create great meals (even if you don’t cook). Start with the colors. A true Tuscan kitchen reflects the colors of nature. Painting the walls a warm shade of orange-yellow or gold gives your kitchen the perfect backdrop. Italian tile in shades of terra cotta, cinnamon or other natural stone works great on the floor.

A Splash Of Colors
Tuscan kitchen colors combine natural elements with warm colors.Warm colors are appetizing so they work well in kitchens. Base the room around natural wood cabinets or granite countertops because Tuscan kitchens are meant to be cooked in. Stick with dark colors on the cupboards or a medium wood tone. Give a farmhouse look with wood beams and add elegance with small columns and carvings on the island.
In Tuscan kitchen decor, the use of diverse colors ensures that there is always an exciting element in it. There is a bold use of orange and yellow colors, with gold and terracotta on the walls which give it an elegant touch. Always select a hushed or battered looking tone of your chosen color. Tuscan kitchen has a twang of colors in bright reds, sunshine yellows, sea blues, shining blues, bright greens, and browns mixed with burgundy.

This kitchen belongs to Céline, who live in downtown Marseille, the south of France, she sent her loft photos to kim and wanted to share her loft design. The kitchen is really a fantastic work, complex but creative wall decoration, stainless steel cabinets but feel warm.
“She sent some photos of her industrial kitchen, along with photos of her dining room and patio (which took 6 months to create) and a couple before photos. ‘In the dining room and kitchen we mixed vintage letterboxes, my father’s old shop ‘comptoir’ with antique carrera marble, old advertising, a station board, tolix chairs ….’ I adore the kitchen – it’s far from sparse which gives it such an inviting feel. It’s eclectic and creative and the result is functional and convenient.” More about her loft, click here.

The kitchen has a frame from Ikea with cabinet doors and drawer fronts of the planks from an old barn. The worktop is cast in concrete.

Dining room, original solid wood furniture.
The couple built the house themselves for almost five years ago. The house would be open as possible and they placed a dining room and living room in an upstairs “where the view is best” and where the heat rises naturally. Downstairs is cooler and there are three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large hall. Upper floor rooms are also placed after the sun has its time: in the kitchen the morning sun spreads its light and in the drawing room with adjoining patio enjoyed the afternoon sun.
