Another amazing work of white kitchen! Open design for the dining-kitchen-living room, The big kitchen center island and the huge white cabinets are very comfortable designs, I love the way the stark white and contemporary lines were softened with the homely touches. The fabulous kitchen was designed by Mikael Beckman from Sweden and via skeppsholmen.

The Felds’ new kitchen is clean, modern, and laced with industrial touches (laboratory faucets, lab glass pendant lamps designed by Sand, stainless steel appliances) while animated by materials and crafted elements that radiate warmth: fir floors unearthed from beneath two layers of linoleum; a fireclay farm sink made in England; Carrera marble counters that extend up the walls; walnut shelving; and industrial mechanisms that put the hardware on display, such as the suspended rolling blackboard that conceals the water heater.

Prized possessions such as the old English butcher’s block sit cheek-to-jowl with 21st-century amenities, such as the stacking ovens by Dacor, six-burner Viking stove, and Miele dishwasher.

The Feld kitchen bridges eras by bringing together traditional designs and materials (the big Shaw’s Original English farmhouse sink, fir floors, honed marble counters) with industrial designs. Open walnut shelving helps convey a sense of lightness. The pot-and-pan drawers pull out for easy access, while rolling steel-framed panels of textured glass above the counter act as a scrim, allowing the Felds to choose what to obscure and what to display.

The most glamorous of her kitchen renovation was this art deco styled kitchen. She used gorgeous marble for the countertops. The showstopper had to be the floors which I totally fell in love with – mosaic tiles in black and white in a simple repeating pattern.

Gray, white and black are really starting to grow on me for a kitchen. One could argue that gray is cold and uninviting but the right gray with white and black can really make a crisp and bold statement. Check out the back splash as well as the striped floor!

Candace Olson is a genius when it comes to total renovations and overhauls. When it comes to kitchens, she is definitely the queen. If I were to choose any designer to build my dream kitchen, it would Candace Olson hands down.
Her signature trademark for many of her kitchen countertops is quartz which is beautiful and more durable than granite. Granite will stain and so having really light colors for granite counter tops actually takes a lot of work to upkeep.
