Tuscan kitchen Color Ideas

Tuscan kitchen color decor, yellow and red

photos: discovertuscany-villas.com

Throughout time, Tuscan kitchens have been the place for loved ones to gather. Food is the other favorite pastime of Italians so to most effectively capture that true Tuscan feel in you kitchen, fill it with the pieces needed to create great meals (even if you don’t cook). Start with the colors. A true Tuscan kitchen reflects the colors of nature. Painting the walls a warm shade of orange-yellow or gold gives your kitchen the perfect backdrop. Italian tile in shades of terra cotta, cinnamon or other natural stone works great on the floor.

Tuscan Kitchen Decorating Ideas

A Splash Of Colors
Tuscan kitchen colors combine natural elements with warm colors.Warm colors are appetizing so they work well in kitchens. Base the room around natural wood cabinets or granite countertops because Tuscan kitchens are meant to be cooked in. Stick with dark colors on the cupboards or a medium wood tone. Give a farmhouse look with wood beams and add elegance with small columns and carvings on the island.

In Tuscan kitchen decor, the use of diverse colors ensures that there is always an exciting element in it. There is a bold use of orange and yellow colors, with gold and terracotta on the walls which give it an elegant touch. Always select a hushed or battered looking tone of your chosen color. Tuscan kitchen has a twang of colors in bright reds, sunshine yellows, sea blues, shining blues, bright greens, and browns mixed with burgundy.

Stainless Steel Industrial Kitchen Creative Design With Decorative Complex

Decorative Complex, stainless steel kitchen

creative kitchen wall decoration

This kitchen belongs to Céline, who live in downtown Marseille, the south of France, she sent her loft photos to kim and wanted to share her loft design. The kitchen is really a fantastic work, complex but creative wall decoration, stainless steel cabinets but feel warm.

“She sent some photos of her industrial kitchen, along with photos of her dining room and patio (which took 6 months to create) and a couple before photos. ‘In the dining room and kitchen we mixed vintage letterboxes, my father’s old shop ‘comptoir’ with antique carrera marble, old advertising, a station board, tolix chairs ….’ I adore the kitchen – it’s far from sparse which gives it such an inviting feel. It’s eclectic and creative and the result is functional and convenient.” More about her loft, click here.

Kitchen Tile Backsplash Ideas and Pictures

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Use flooring as inspiration for your backsplash, like Candice Olson did in this . While it seems odd, using the same colored or textured tile helps unify your kitchen design.

Two kitchen backsplash materials are better than one

Two kitchen backsplash materials are better than one. Candice Olson pairs soapstone and blue glass tiles in this New Orleans-inspired kitchen.
Durango stone backsplash

Install under-cabinet lighting to show off your backsplash. This Durango stone backsplash is accented with bronze tiles for a little sparkle. Natural stone tiles are another popular choice for the kitchen backsplash. They make a lovely choice in a kitchen with granite countertops and stone floors. Limestone, marble, and even plain old rocks can be used successfully in a backsplash, depending on the look of the rest of the room.

Glass mosaic tiles

The small, one inch glass tiles are a great way to incorporate glass tiles into your backsplash inexpensively. Rather than doing the entire backsplash with them, you can use the tiles to create a border for the other types of tiles you use. Use the small mosaic tiles with stone or ceramic for a custom look.

Stainless steel backsplashes

Stainless steel creates a modern look in the kitchen. The backsplashes go with nearly any countertop style, and blend well with stainless kitchen appliances. They are durable, heat resistant and easy to clean. Stainless is the choice of most commercial kitchens because of these positive qualities. However, stainless can be scratched. Acidic foods, chlorine bleach, and harsh chemicals can ruin the finish or cause staining if they are not rinsed off quickly and thoroughly. High-grade stainless steel can be expensive.

durable, classic backsplashes
Tin backsplashes are durable, classic and a perfect balance for urban materials like concrete countertops. Candice Olson opted for cream-colored tin tiles, instead of stainless steel.

Traditional French Farmhouse-Style Kitchen Ideas

Birch, a strong hardwood, is a classic kitchen cabinet wood. Birch kitchen cabinets not only stand up well to bumps and scrapes, they’re considered the least expensive wood cabinet choice. If you’re on a limited budget and like light to medium wood tones that feature small knots or burls, birch kitchen cabinets may work well for you.

If you prefer wood that has a consistent graining and color intensity, birch kitchen cabinets may not be the best choice since they don’t always have a uniform surface appearance. It’s a good idea to look at birch cabinets in person at a home improvement company showroom to get an idea of your wood style preference. Birch is a light wood that usually has cream to yellow undertones. A typical birch kitchen cabinet finish is medium brown, but white to pinkish-brown finishes are also available.

Plantation Hardwood
Rubberwood is sometimes referred to as plantation hardwood.  It has a straight grain and accepts many types of finishes well.  These characteristics make it ideal for use in kitchen cabinets.  The color range is a soft palette of creamy colors.  Check out rubberwood for your new kitchen cabinets.

If the name rubber wood doesn’t sound familiar, the wood is also known as plantation hardwood and para wood. If you buy a piece of furniture described only as “solid hardwood,” chances are it’s made of rubber wood. The product of latex rubber plantations, the wood until recently was burned as junk wood. Furniture manufacturers discovered that this hardwood is easy to work with and inexpensive to acquire. The rest, as they say, is history.

Rubberwoodd naturally varies in color from creamy white to medium brown. Unstained, naturally finished rubber wood furniture is popular in other countries, but much of the rubber wood furniture in the US is stained or painted. It is a historic brand of excellence in Italian industry. Already, towards the end of the 1940s, with their specialisation in kitchen furnishings, Schiffini became the first to offer kitchens made with modular components produced on an industrial scale, anticipating changes in the social framework that would ten years later lead to the birth of Italian Design. In the 1960s they were among the few companies that were sensitive to the first stirrings of industrial design and put their entrepreneurial know-how at the disposal of designers exploring new models of creativity, thus giving birth to Italian Design, a true cultural movement resulting from the fusion of industrial production and design. Schiffini’s association with Vico Magistretti, one of the Masters of Italian Design, proved vital during this period.
