Ideas For White kitchen Cabinets

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

White is a trend color for 2009 interior design. White works to reflect about 85% of light. White seems to make rooms seem brighter and larger. Unfortunately, white walls are vulnerable to scraping and marking and a kitchen environment might not be the best place for white with food flying all around.

white kitchen with stainless steel appliances, Ideas For White kitchen Cabinets

Here we commend white kitchen cabinets for your kitchen, and the white is no longer simply “white”. It is French Vanilla, Eggshell, Cream, and the list goes on. These subtle colors mixed with white add a feeling of warmth to your walls and cabinets.

White will never look dated. Straight-line cabinets with hefty hardware look solid and promise longevity. On the island, a built-in oven and plenty of storage sit below a unique butcher-block top made of maple and walnut in a checkerboard pattern.

More tips of choosing the color scheme for your kitchen:

When it comes to selecting the color scheme for your kitchen designs whatever color palette you decide to go with a good guideline for using color is to have a 60-30-10 split between three different colors. 60% representing the main or dominant color, probably on the walls or kitchen cabinets, 30% of a secondary color used in the flooring or rugs, as well as window treatments and 10% for accents such as, dishes, artwork, pillows, curtains and such.

Kitchen cabinets are usually, but not always, a neutral color, so you have more freedom in choosing the color palette because neutrals go with most anything. The brightest or most dramatic color in the color scheme is where the eye will go first so you’ll want to make sure it is worthy of being the focal point and where you want to draw attention to.

Kitchens By Krengel

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

Kitchens by Krengel of St. Paul, Minnesota, began designing kitchens 44 years ago. For nearly half a century, we’ve known that great design is the product of a great understanding—of your family, your needs, and your goals. As a small kitchen & bath design firm, we care about our clients, sharing the details of their routine so that we can create the kitchen or bath that best supports their lifestyle. Our clients become part of our family—because they welcome us into theirs.

We pair our designs with Wood-Mode cabinetry, whose commitment to crafting timeless kitchens mirrors our own. At Kitchens by Krengel, if we can create a space that your family wants to spend more time in, then we have contributed just slightly to improving your little piece of the world.

Exposed beams, faux-finished yellow walls and natural light make this warm and rustic space. Placing an undermount sink across from the cooktop and putting the island countertop at dining height allow maximum use of this small kitchen.

Medieval Castle Kitchen

If the kitchen of an old English medieval castle had a 48” side-by-side Sub-Zero refrigerator with matching undercounter wine storage, it might look like this. The 11’6” by 6’6” island provides plenty of work space while opening the kitchen up to the great room, allowing for parties of 60-plus people.

Armstrong Kitchen Cabinets

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

Armstrong Cabinets are constructed of quality materials and finished with superior coatings. They have undergone rigorous testing prior to shipping. This is your assurance that Armstrong Cabinets will maintain their attractive finish and structural soundness throughout years of normal everyday use. As with any product constructed of wood, a few moments of care and a little common sense can go a long way in keeping your new cabinets looking their best. Here are a few simple suggestions to make your cabinet care easier. Clean cabinets as needed with a mild detergent or with soap and water (use sparingly) and dry well using a lint-free cloth for both washing and drying. Wipe up spills, splatters and water spots as they occur, keeping cabinets and countertop surfaces dry.  Give special attention to areas near the sink and dishwasher that come in contact with moisture.  Use cleaners and polishes designed for wood cabinets and clean all surfaces as needed.

A transitional kitchen cabinet in a light finish can easily take on a more stately traditional look by adding different hardware, countertops, and the right antique furniture and accessories.

Kitchen, country style

To add character and a more custom look to your kitchen, apply an antique painted finish to cabinet doors and moldings. Complete the look with retro hardware. You’ve created an instant heritagelook.

Turning a porch into a sunroom is a perfect way to expand a room and drench the space with light.

Contemporary Kitchen Cabinets, hardwood cabinets, Espresso island

Though Coronet resembles raised panel-in-frames cabinetry, it is actually constructed of a solid panel of edge glued plantation hardwood. The raised panel styling is milled directly into a single panel of solid wood, creating depth and dimension. The edges of the panel are chamfered and back cut slightly, providing a finger grip and eliminating the need for knobs and pulls. Coronet delivers the appearance of raised panel cabinetry at a budget more associated with flat panel styling.

Contemporary cabinets

The alluring beauty of Arborcrest’s classic cherry wood is masterfully fashioned with a flair of modern day styling. The ever-popular Shaker style has a timeless look for any home’s décor. Its wide door frames make a bold statement of elegance. Photo shows Cinnamon cabinets and Espresso island.

Form and function. Beauty and durability. The clean, contemporary look originally created by European designers has been captured by Shasta, but in an affordable American tradition. Square edges on all four sides of the doors and drawers combined with full overlay cabinet styling make simple melamine clad doors elegant. Matching edge banding creates a uniform appearance.
